These initiatives include the use of low-cost instrumentation to study and monitor the environment. Among them are the design and installation of meteorological stations, light pollution studies, renewable energy projects, and the use of the Calitoo handheld photometer to investigate calima dust events, which frequently affect the Canary Islands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"1135\">The access proposed in this document refers to the latter initiative, known as Calima-GLOBE. The objectives of this access include not only the calibration of the handheld photometers at Iza\u00f1a, owned by the Government of the Canary Islands, but also the provision of the necessary knowledge and training for teachers to enable the implementation of this project in the classroom.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Calibration of the Calitoo devices at Iza\u00f1a, owned by the Government of the Canary Islands.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Provision of a calibration certificate for each device.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Regular training sessions for teachers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Provision of access to all measurements through a centralised webpage managed and maintained by AEMET.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2454\" src=\"https:\/\/testbed.aemet.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Captura.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"729\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/testbed.aemet.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Captura.png 908w, https:\/\/testbed.aemet.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Captura-300x102.png 300w, https:\/\/testbed.aemet.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Captura-768x262.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 729px) 100vw, 729px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><b>Figure.- <\/b>Red dots indicate the locations of Canary Islands educational centers where atmospheric measurements are conducted using Calitoo photometers.
