AOD and water vapour from PANDORA photometer

The Pandora Spectrometer System is a ground-based, sun/sky/lunar passive remote sensing instrument for the retrieval of trace gases in the UV/Vis spectral wavelengths. The Izaña Observatory is one of the most important Pandora instrument testing sites together with the Innsbruck Atmospheric Observatory of the University of Innsbruck, Austria.

Scientific objectives:

  • Maintenance and operation of the Izaña Atmospheric Research Center mounted Pandoras.
  • Evaluation of the performance of the PGN products under development (Water Vapour, AOD), using independent reference instruments at Izaña Atmospheric Research Center.
  • Development of the “PanBrew” methodology, in order to get O3 data using Pandora measurements and the Brewer triad calibration and processing procedures.
