Continuous and coincident photometric observations at Izaña with Cimel and Prede photometers
Principal Investigator: Monica Campanelli
Institution name: Institute of atmospheric Sciences and Climate, CNR
Scientific objective
- Perform continuous sun and moon photometric observations in Izaña using PREDE/SKYNET instrument.
- Perform comparisons involving AOD and aerosol micro-physical properties between collocated CE318-T instruments operating with AERONET/Cimel and PREDE/SKYNET routines.
- Validation of daytime and nighttime AOD measurements using independent reference instruments at Izaña Atmospheric Research Center (GAW/PFR and AERONET/Cimel).
- Check traceability (WMO standards) between instruments to investigate the possibility of including CE318-T sun photometers in SKYNET and the consequent expansion of this global network.
- Installation of a PREDE/POM sun photometer in Izaña.
- Continuous operational checkings and aerosol products’ comparison (CIMEL/PFR/PREDE).
